We are recruiting for Refuse and Cleansing operatives to work for the Waste and Recycling Service in a range of roles.
We have a number of exciting job opportunities that will support us to deliver a range of services including the collection disposal and treatment of waste and recycling materials.
As part of the job, you will join a team that provides effective waste collection services, this may be a part of the bin collection rounds.
You may also be responsible for the removal of waste, detritus and bulky items from pedestrian areas, grass verges, parks, roads, pavements, wasteland, houses and public properties.
The Authority also operates 6 Household Recycling Centres which are open 7 days a week all year round and we are recruiting staff to help us improve recycling performance at the sites.
This role will require a good level of customer service skills as you will support residents to recycle on site effectively when disposing of household items. You will also be expected to check credentials of those arriving onsite for relevant residency and required permits.
A key part of this role is to enhance the customer experience and support the delivery of the strategy to increase recycling rates across the county borough.
Weekend and bank holiday working is essential to the role.
Successful candidates will play a key role in the promotion of the service and ensure the provision of a quality, effective customer focused service.
